Phase one of the refurbishment of the Amathus Hotel in Paphos, one of the Leading Hotels of the World, has been completed. We are responsible for the complete re-brand of the hotel including work to the restaurants, bar, reception, atrium and lobby, as well as a new all-suite wing.

The new Bar has been remodelled beyond recognition by the new feature bar counter inspired by butterfly patternation, complimented by stylish furniture and dark wooden flooring. Closed inside powerful blue tinted glass walls, transforming itself to a magic blue cube floating above the lobby, the new Bar plays off the red glass cube opposite accommodating the new Oriental Restaurant.

In phase two we were asked to refurbish several areas, including the coffee bar, garden suites and main restaurant.

The new ‘Luna Rosa’ or ‘Red Moon’ Restaurant required two areas; one for evening theme buffets and Table d’hote, with a more intimate raised area offering an exclusive à la carte selection of fine local and international cuisine. Both areas benefit from views of the central stage and dance floor, where live music and shows are performed.

Inspiration for the restaurant was taken from the ambience of a moon lit night off the Akamas Pennisula, one of the last stretches of natural Mediterranean coastal wilderness left. The reflection of the moon and the glittering stars on the gentle waves in the sea, along with the white rocks and surrounding natural landscape is evident in the pinpoint lighting, glittering crystals and imaginative movement of the plaster mural within ‘Luna Rosa’.
