Private Residence

Limassol

Located in Agios Tychonas, dramatically on top of a hillside site with panoramic view of the city, this private residence is a modern cubist expression designed to maximize the experience of height and the views in full.

The proposal of the study consisted of a house entirely materialized in exposed concrete and natural local stone, material whose noble aesthetic expression allowed a respectful dialogue with its environment. The architectural strategy sought to organize the different functional requirements in well differentiated packages contained in four pure volumes, addressed according to different orientations and arranged at different levels. A series of cascading terraces integrates the architectural volumes into the landscape.

The design response is a simple rectilinear form where cantilever on first floor is inserted into the side of the hill, enhancing the feeling of suspended living above the cliff. All living spaces are on the ground floor, with wide sliding doors giving access to the swimming pool, landscape and barbecue. The East and South façades are fully glazed with large openings, enabling views across the horizon during sunrise and sunset over the sea.
