Listed as “one of the great hotels of the world” the Elysium Resort Hotel in Cyprus, has also won a Leisure Property Award as Best Continental European Leisure Development and has been named by the Sunday Times as the “Best [New] Resort Hotel in the World”.

The Elysium offers five-star luxury holiday accommodation close to the ancient city of Paphos and opened in May 2002. Panos Panayiotou, through Scott Brownrigg, provided architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and masterplanning services.

Design stimulus was provided by the ‘Tombs of the Kings’, one of the most celebrated archaeological sites on Cyprus, which lies next to the Elysium. Different elements of the resort suggest different spirits, ages and energies including the mysticism of Byzantium, the opulence of Venice and the vitality of the Mediterranean. The resort is intended to give the visitor a series of experiences that contemplate the rich history of the island.
