Located dramatically on top of a hill 300m above sea level, this is a modern cubist expression designed to maximise the experience of height. The main living accommodation cantilevers over the lower floor, which is inserted into the side of the hill, enhancing the feeling of suspended living above the cliff. The East and West façades are fully glazed, enabling views across the horizon during sunrise and sunset over the sea.
The house is entered at the top level with the staircase and atrium providing access to the lower floors. Photo sensitive vertical external blinds with minimal override protect the building from solar gains and glare, whilst enabling ever-changing views and lighting conditions.
